history of music videos

The first music video as we know it today, was Tony Bennett's "Stranger in Paradise"(1953) (cannot find it online). They were promotional little films designed to highlight the new talking pictures, but they have the form of a music video: they are built around the performance of a single song.

1983 Michael Jacksons thriller is released directed by hollywood director John Landis, this video remains an iconic part of pop culture raised the bar for what a music video could be

14th of February Youtube is created, making music videos streamable anywhere and making them even more accessible

December 21st 2012, Gangnam Style by Psy becomes the first youtube video to reach 1 billion views on youtube showing youtubes massive outreach
